T S Eliott described April as the cruellest month in his classic poem “The Wasteland”. Rammy supporters will say he was a month too early as May has been a disaster for us in League terms with us not recording one single victory. At least Sunday offered some decent weather for our followers but the sun was the only thing that shone on us.
Batting first on a wicket that kept a little low we could not come to terms with the Norden bowling which was steady if unspectacular and we crumbled to 86 all out.

The score would have been more embarrassing but for Dan Pyke’s late order 24. As appears the norm a couple of our dismissals were very questionable but you cannot hide the fact that this was a poor batting effort. This was highlighted more by the fact that Norden lost 5 wickets in passing our total with only their professional Ash Zaidi looking comfortable against our two man attack of Daryn Smit and Jacob Clarke. One wonders how they would have fared chasing a target of 150.
Amateur Man of Match was Dan Pyke with his 24 plus a decent catch in the deep.
