Scorecard here
Rammy seconds travelled to bottom of the table Todmorden on Saturday 17 July with a fourth new captain in as many weeks and 9 players under the age of 21. Despite the depleted team, hopes were still high that Rammy could do the double after beating Todmorden by 100 runs in the fixture at Acre Bottom.
On a boiling hot day the Ramsbottom captain Brad Wilson lost the toss and was somewhat surprised to be asked to bat on a wicket near the edge of the square. The Todmorden opening pair bowled a tight line and length and Ramsbottom lost two wickets to leave them at 30 for 2. The Ramsbottom opener Nick Round maintained his composure and at 80 for 5 he was joined by his brother Chris Round. The Round brothers batted sensibly with some excellent running and any bad balls being put away to the boundary.

At 108 Nick was out for an excellent 62 followed by his brother for 23. This brought inexperienced pair Tom Ireland and Louie Pearson to the wicket. Both showed maturity well above the age in putting together an excellent unbeaten 50 partnership and bringing the score to a competitive 176 for 7 after 45 overs. Tom finished on 23 not out and Louie 26 not out.
The Todmorden opening pair set off their innings with intent scoring at over 6 an over making good use of the short boundary. A move from pace to spin brough three wickets but no slow down in the scoring rate as some poor bowling across the whole attack was sent to the boundary. Todmorden reached their target of 176 within 23 overs to win by 7 wickets with 146 of these runs coming in boundaries and extras. Bowling figures for Ramsbottom were Ryan Storey (0-46), Tom Ireland (0-28), Chris Round (2 -46) ,Brad Wilson (1-37) and Louie Pearson (0-11).
