Rain hit the Junior Fixtures hard, with no games for U11s and U15s, but in-between the showers we had some success.
Our All Stars programme has started on Sunday mornings with around 30 children and their parents enjoying out great facilities and having fun.
On Monday 10th June, our U9s were in action at Edgworth. We battled to a decent score of 254/3 in the pairs format (starting at 200 and losing 4 runs for every wicket). Sadly, Edgworth we’re stronger still and batted to a winning total of 270/3. Our young Rams are playing really well this season and the training is paying off. Well done young Rams!
On the same night, the U13s travelled the short distance up the road to face local rivals Haslingden in the 11-a-side “proper cricket” format. Haslingden won the toss and decided to bat first. In a shortened game of 16 overs per side, they scored a reasonable 68-6 in the tricky conditions. Brilliant bowling from George Lee and Zack Eatough to grab 2 wickets apiece, made their mark on the Hassy batting. Isaac Moore also chipped in with his “leggies” to claim his first ever U13s wicket. Our batsmen continued their good form this season and were up to the task. Runs from Isaac Turner (26), and some good running and hitting from Harry Bradley (20 not out) with Oliver Croft (10 not out) saw us reach the target with more than 2 overs to spare.
