Our U9s opened the week’s fixtures when they travelled to local rivals Greenmount. In the first match Elton A piled on the runs in the pairs format to reach 264/6 off their 9 overs, with our young Rams replying valiantly with 218/5. We had better results in the second match of the night against Greenmount B with Rammy winning by 37 runs and a final score of 267/2.

The U11s played on Wednesday evening away to Bamford Fieldhouse with a solid performance. Our batting was sensible and positive with all four pairings getting a double-figure stand and only losing 4 wickets. Out total of 257 was too much for Bamford, great batting performances from our Captain Sonny Myers (23) and Louis Almond-Read (17). Backed up by great bowling and fielding from the whole team. Louis finished with 4 wickets and Harry Collinge, Sonny Myers and Maxwell Price all took 1 apiece. Zach Round’s wicket keeping going from strength to strength!

Our U13s extended their winning streak across both formats to 10 games with two wins home and away. On Tuesday at Norden, the home side won the toss and chose to bat but struggled against our accurate bowling and ended up 88 all out after 16 overs. We chased down the target with 7 overs to spare, solid and sensible batting once more from Isaac Turner (18), George Lee (24 not out) and Harry Bradley (20 not out). Player of the Match, Josh Simpson 3 wickets for 9 runs off his 2 overs.

At Acre Bottom the following night, the U13s won the toss and chose to bat on a sunny evening. They steadily gathered 128 runs without losing a wicket, great batting again from Isaac Turner (30 n.o.), George Lee (30 n.o.), Oliver Croft (32 n.o.) and Harry Bradley (23 n.o. off 14 balls). Some slightly loose bowling nearly let Crompton back in the match but a stand-out performance from Isaac Moore with 3 wickets from 2 overs of his leg spin. George Clarke also bowled brilliantly again with 2 wickets from his 2 overs and Michael Souter held his nerve to cling onto a towering catch.

Sadly, no game for the U15s this week.
