A mixed weekend for the 1st team. Saturday saw them pick up a good win in the league against Burnley. Batting first we made 200, built around 66 from George Linde with Brad Fielding making a handy 43 and the tail chipping in with useful runs. We then bowled out Burnley for 127 with the pro finishing with 5 for 46 off 15 overs. Not so good news on Sunday in the LCB cup game when we were comprehensively beaten by Norden, finally losing by 102 runs – as they say out of one cup allows us to concentrate on the league. The 2nds had a weekend to forget, suffering a 6 wicked defeat despite a fighting 55 from skipper Dale Gabriel. For slightly more detail see the succinct match report.
