CRICKET ACADEMY

Ramsbottom Cricket Club Cricket Academy welcomes you and your children to the Club. We are a Clubmark club and we adhere to the “Safe Hands” Policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket. All the adults at the club who work with children, meet the necessary criteria and are vetted by the ECB. This includes the enhanced DBS and “Barred List” check (formerly known as CRB checks).
Our aim is to make sure that we provide structured coaching and enjoyment of cricket to 5 to 17 year-olds, whilst also developing players to their full potential in order to join the senior teams.
The Junior Committee members are:
Phil Croft (Chair)
Carl Turner (Vice-Chair)
Samantha Hinchliffe (Treasurer)
Claire Collinge (Secretary)
Kerry Moore (Safeguarding Officer)
Iain Collier (Women’s and Girls Manager)
Kelly Newbold (All Stars Activator)
We have excellent facilities and dedicated people to ensure your child enjoys their cricket and develops their skills in the game. Following four years of success for the All Stars programme, our club has grown with over 160 children now enjoying cricket and being part of our club. With the support of Kelly Newbold and senior players from the club, we will be running our 6th programme in 2023.
Our established and successful Ramsbottom Women and Girls’ Section goes from strength to strength. We aim to field U13s, U15s, U17s, U19s and Open Age Female only teams in established leagues across the county.
Phil Heaton, Level 2 coach and ex professional player, joined the coaching staff last year and will continue to support us next season. Many of the club’s senior players and our Club Pro will also assist with the coaching. Finally, we will continue to train our existing coaches and managers in coaching qualifications; several of our coaches have achieved Foundation Level 1 and Core Level 2 credentials through the winter and there is continued support for all levels of coaching education. If you would like to get involved in running a team, coaching or supporting the people already there, please let me know. All our coaches are there to ensure that the players receive the best possible experience and develop their cricket skills.
