Ramsbottom Cricket Club Junior Foundation welcomes you and your children to the Club. We’re a Clubmark club and we adhere to the “Safe Hands” Policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket. All the adults at the club who work with children, meet the necessary criteria and are vetted by the ECB. This includes the enhanced DBS and “Barred List” check (formerly known as CRB checks). Our aim is to make sure that we provide structured coaching and enjoyment of cricket to all, whilst also creating a pathway for those junior players who want to progress their skills and join the senior teams.
We have a committed team of volunteers who help to run the Junior Foundation:
Samantha Hinchliffe (Treasurer)
Samantha Myers (Safeguarding Officer)
Kelly Newbold (All Stars Lead Activator)
Carl Turner (Vice-Chair)
Claire Collinge (Secretary)
John Steele (Player Development)
Women & Girls Teams
Iain Collier (W & G Manager, Level 2 Coach)
Simone Birley (Coach Support)
Sophie Ullah (Level 2 Coach)
Aaron Eaves (Level 2 Coach)
Phil Croft (U15s Manager, Level 1 Coach)
Carl Turner (U15s Manager, Coach Support)
Simon Read (U13s Manager, Level 2 Pending) Vacancy (U13s Manager)
Brian Taylor (U11s Manager, Level 2 Coach)
Alex Newby (Pro Coach, Level 3)
Following the massive success for the All Stars Programme, our junior section has grown with over 100 children now enjoying cricket and being part of our club. Summer training for the whole Junior Foundation is weekly between the start of April and end of August, where professional coaches are running the individual team training programme to develop the players skills and enjoyment of the game. If you’d like you child to take part in any of these activities please get in touch.
John Steele continues to give support to the Junior Foundation. Our Pro Coach, Alex Newby has attained his Level 3 coaching qualification and continues to focus on the older age groups. Many of the club’s senior players and our Club Pro will also assist with the coaching. Finally, we will continue to support the development of coaches in achieving ECB Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications; we currently have 6 Level 2 coaches, a Level 1 coach and several Coach Support Workers. All our coaches are there to ensure that the players receive the best possible experience and develop their cricket skills.
If you are interested in paying for additional 1:1 coaching sessions for your child with our Pro or any of our qualified coaches, please contact us here.
Support from parents or carers is always greatly appreciated and we do need a couple more adults to help us run teams and maximise the amount of matches our juniors take part in. Be assured that you would be fully supported and any required training will be provided, please contact us here.
