Ramsbottom Cricket Club have a thriving Women’s and Girl’s section. Established in 2020 we are able to offer competitive and fun cricket for all ages. With over 50 active players and a group of 8 ECB L2 and L3 coaches dedicated just to women and girls cricket, we are the go to club for women and girls cricket in the area. Practice evenings in 2024 will be at Acre Bottom on Thursdays for senior women and Wednesdays for juniors from April through to September.
There is a strong social scene amongst the group with plans already in place for social events in 2024.
We are always on the look out for new players at all age groups, and any ability, new starters or experienced players. In particular this season we are recruiting girls for our u11s team, so any Y4/5/6 girls want to give cricket a go you will be made most welcome, it’s a great age to start in the best place and with the best facilities.

Senior Women’s Cricket

2024 will be a unique and exciting year for women and girls cricket at “Rammy” with lots of types of cricket to suit any new players. In 2023 we were Lancashire women’s 40 over league champions for the second year in a row and as well as seeing if we can win the title for the third year running we have team playing in the Lancashire League against mens and mixed 3rd teams. This is as well as T20 knockout competition games, team captain Daisy Hunt is keen to welcome any new experienced players to this group.
We also have a second team who play T20 games midweek in division 2 of the LCF league against other clubs first teams, they are the reigning champions at this division too so we will be looking at building on that success with team captain Charlotte Weston. The W&G head coach Iain Collier manages the senior teams at the club.

New players at any age contact the club direct here.

 Junior Girl’s Cricket

In 2024 we will once again enter ECB NKO at u19/15/13 age groups and field two U15s teams in the LCF league as well as the U18, U13 and U11 playing LCF league games too, so there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. Fixtures vary on days and are either on a weekend or evening depending on travel to the opposition.

Our u13s are reigning North of England ECB champions for the second year running. Whatever your age or experience if you want to give cricket a go contact us here.

We have a fantastic group of junior girls who range from brand new starters to girls who have played county age group cricket for several years. The focus is on development of skills, inclusion, playing cricket in the right way and having fun as part of a team playing with other like minded girls.
