Ramsbottom Cricket Club have a thriving Women’s and Girl’s section. Established in 2020 we are able to offer competitive and fun cricket for all ages. With over 40 active players and five L2 coaches dedicated just to women and girls cricket as well as a L3 trained coach on hand for women and girls only practice sessions, we are the go to club for women and girls cricket in the area. Practice evenings in 2023 will be at Acre Bottom on Wednesdays from April through to September.
There is a strong social scene amongst the group with plans already in place for social events in 2023.
We are always on the look out for new players at all age groups, and any ability, new starters or experienced players. In particular this season we are recruiting girls for our new u11s team, so any Y4/5/6 girls want to give cricket a go you will be made most welcome, it’s a great age to start in the best place and with the best facilities.

Senior Women’s Cricket

In 2023 we will have a team playing 40 over cricket in the top division of the county wide league, team captain Sophie Ullah is keen to welcome any new experienced players to this group. We were champions in 2022 and we are ooking forward to defending our title. Over the last couple of seasons Sophie, Imogen Young, Maeve Jones and Abby Bingham have all played senior mixed cricket at Ramsbottom.
Our young and improving T20 team made it to the regional final of the National T2o competion in 2022. Daisy Hunt will be captain of this team for 2023.
The last form of senior women’s cricket is Super 8s, a fun hardball pairs form of the game. We are the reigning county champions so we will be looking at building on that success with new team captain Beth Collier. The focus of this team is having fun and it’s a great stepping stone into hard ball cricket and the longer forms of the game. W&G head coach Iain Collier manages the senior teams at the club.

New players at any age contact the club direct here.

 Junior Girl’s Cricket
In 202 we will once again field two U15s teams in the county league so there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved.  Team coaches Gareth Young and Tom Eastwood will be looking to retain the county title won with a 100% record last season. Fixtures are often on a weekend or evening.

Our u13s are also reigning county champions and coaches Julian Marcroft and Aaron Eaves hope to add to the squad this year and continue the development of this group. Along with the U15s they will play fixtures across the county and are also entered into the T20 Lady Taverners National KO.

In 2022 we ran our first Dynamos programae and plan to continue in 2023. Whatever your age or experience if you want to give cricket a go contact us here.

We have a fantastic group of junior girls who range from brand new starters to girls who have played county age group cricket for several years. The focus is on development of skills, inclusion, playing cricket in the right way and having fun as part of a team playing with other like minded girls.
