Womens & Girls Section Update
2021 is our second season as a section at Ramsbottom CC and whilst last year was tough in terms of the impact of COVID on everyone, it was a remarkable season on the field of play with a clean sweep of junior and senior competitions.
So how can we follow that? Well our junior girls will attempt to match 2020s u13 and u15 county double and also have been entered into the National T20 knock out at both age groups. We will have league fixtures for two U15s teams again and coaches Gareth Young and Tom Eastwood are raring to go for the new season. Julian Marcroft and new addition to the coaching team Aaron Eaves are taking on our exciting u13s and all the girls have support from Simone Birley who will be entering a team in U11 festivals as we get into the season. There are plenty of opportunities for new players wanting to join us at any age and we will also be working with Kelly Newbold linking our All Stars into the women’s and girls section for the next generation of superstars.

This year we are looking forward to senior women’s teams playing 40 over cricket, T20 or the more “relaxed” but high intensity Super 8s pairs cricket all in the Lancashire County Foundation League. Sophie Ullah is first team captain and I coach the senior teams. We are also looking forward to the club function room opening and some social events for the section and across the wider club.
If you’d like to join us and get involved with anything within the Women’s and Girls Section don’t hesitate to contact me via the club contact here. Or if you’d like to join us as a new player a junior player or an experienced player looking for a new challenge or to get back into playing, again just drop me a line via the club website here and I will get in touch.
